Twinkling lights on Christmas trees, the warm glow of candles and the sweet smell of incense.
Christmas is the most beautiful time of year at Sheffield Cathedral. A time to reflect on the year that has past, to pray for the year ahead and sing out the Good News of a child born in Bethlehem.
All are welcome – just follow the star...

11pm - Midnight Mass
It has long been believed that Jesus was born in the middle of the night, and so the light that he brings enters the world at its darkest point. The infant Jesus is placed in our Steel Nativity scene, the choir sings the most enchanting music and together we celebrate the birth of Jesus in the heart of Sheffield.
Wednesday 25 December, Christmas Day
8am - Holy Communion
Celebrate the birth of Christ as the early morning light pours into the Cathedral. This shorter service has no hymns and uses the traditional words of the Book of Common Prayer. The Cathedral Choir offers joyous music as we celebrate together.
10.30am - Christmas Day Eucharist
O come let us adore him! On this morning when gifts are given and received, we give thanks for God’s gift to us of his Son, Jesus.
Sunday 5 January, 10.30am - Epiphany
The Magi have arrived in Bethlehem! Like them, at the Cathedral Eucharist we come to worship the infant Christ.
Sunday 12 January, 4pm - Epiphany Procession
As life in the city begins to get back to normal, this candlelit service reminds us that the gifts of Christmas live on. No longer a secret in the stable, the news has travelled and the world comes and adores the newborn king.
