Sunday March 29th is Palm Sunday. On this day we remember Jesus Christ entering Jerusalem to the acclaim and joy of the people. He came into the city riding on a donkey and the people cheered him shouting ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’
They gathered palm branches to wave and threw their coats on the ground in his path. They were filled with excitement and joy at the thought of the appearance of the messiah.
This Sunday, the Cathedral congregation will receive a palm branch in the shape of a cross and after the service we will gather in the city center to join other churches around the cross outside the Town Hall.
On Palm Sunday we enter Holy Week and journey with Christ and remember the events leading to the crucifixion.
You can find a full list of Holy Week services here.
We look forward to welcoming you.
