On 4th June Sheffield Cathedral is hosting one of the national Beacon Events for the Archbishops’ Thy Kingdom Come’ global wave of prayer.
From 3pm-5:30pm the Cathedral forecourt will come alive with the sounds of local choirs and bands, with circus performers and activities for children and families, during our Pentecost Street Party.
Then from 5:30pm-7pm the Cathedral will be hosting one of the Thy Kingdom Come Beacon Events which are happening in 10 cathedrals between 25th May and 4th June. These are part of the Thy Kingdom Come global prayer movement, inviting Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for people to come to know Jesus Christ.
We’re really excited that Ven Liz Adekunle, Archdeacon of Hackney, is coming to preach. The music will be led by a worship band led by Pete James. The whole diocese is encouraged to join in with the Pentecost celebrations along with other churches across South Yorkshire.
For entry into the Cathedral for the Beacon Event you will need to register for a free ticket here. Tickets are also available directly from the Cathedral by calling 0114 2753434. The service will also be screened onto the forecourt for those without tickets.
